daVinci Maestro 2 bristle brushes are double-boiled so they are not too stiff and to give them extra spring and life. This allows for maximum stroke control that is not possible with overly stiff bristle. They are "interlock" constructed so they keep their form after long and vigorous use. While being hand shaped, stiffer, fat bristles are removed to ensure better "flags" at the tips, which hold and carry color for better control than bristle that is simply cut flat at the end.

PARTICULARS MATTER:
• The majority of artist brush brands outsource their brush construction to cut costs and what you, the artist, end up with is a brush that is improperly made. daVinci selects all hairs and makes all our brushes in our own factory in Germany, allowing full control over production.

• The picture shows a No.16 daVinci Artist Bristle on the left, and a competitor’s outsourced brush No.16 on the right. Notice the difference in size. The daVinci brush has a 50% wider painting edge.

• What is not visible to you is the interior of both products, which can only be
seen by cutting open the ferrule. The bristle used by daVinci is nearly double the length, which takes up the entire space inside the ferrule between bristle and handle.

• Only through such bristle length can the positive and enduring effect of interlock production be achieved.

• This construction is crucial for the elasticity, springiness, longevity and prevention of hair loss of an artist bristle brush.
